Granville Island Market Place

March 25, 2008

Granville Island Is a huge public market located underneath the Granville street bridge just south of downtown Vancouver .

From Granville island you can access to many very interesting attractions via the Aqua bus (small ferries that carry up to twelve or so people ).

ferries.jpg

silkpainter.jpg At Granville island there are many shops, artist studios as well as the world famous “Kids Market”

busker.jpgAdditionally there are musicians, magicians ,jugglers ,thousands of Sea Gulls, as well as people from all over the world .The marketplace itself is a veritable rainbow of multiculturalism .

It’s almost useless to try to describe it because it is so amazing you just have to see it .

Some of the attractions that you can access via the Aquabus are the Marine Museum and the Science Center . .

Just past the Marine Museum there is the “Dog Beach”- the first in a series of beautiful beaches that connect DownTown with UBC at Wreck Beach : ) - While at UBC Check out the “Museum of Anthropology “—Well worth it !

If you have a bike this is an amazing day trip that will show you are real part of the Local Vancouver. Be sure to do it on Tuesday as the “Museum of Anthropology” is open late that day ( till 9)- Check with translink tripplanner and you should be able to throw your Bike on the front of the Bus and make it an easy trip home : ).

More on this later…

Sentias Chosen as CMS provider to NVGT

March 22, 2008

After over an entire year of researching the Content Management Systems providers for tour companies NorthVan GreenTours has decided upon ” sentias.com “ go as their primary Content Management Systems provider.

The primary reasons for choosing ” sentias.com “ were customer service and attention to detail .Additionally the business model ” sentias.com “ employs places the customer first.

We were especially impressed with the efforts of ; Junko , Phil , John , and Stephen.

All of the Above went well beyond the ” Call of Duty” in order to make sure that all of our concerns were addressed .

I believe the people at ” sentias.com “ helped us more than they probably should have due to the fact that as a corporation they believe in sustainable tourism .We really appreciate their support .

If you’re considering an automated booking service we highly recommend ” sentias.com “.

Finally- Good Ramen In Vancouver : !

March 22, 2008

img002.jpg

Finally Vancouver has some good Ramen-

After years of praying that someone would start a Ramen shop that tasted good

Benkei Ramen has opened on Robson St in Vancouver .

The Ramen tastes really good .Especially the “house” Ramen- it has a special amount of dried fish in the soup.

They have three basic types of soup Shio Hakata-my favorite

Miso Hakata My second favorite .img007.jpg

And Shoyu - tastes good but is much lighter - has the chicken based soup .

Highly recommended . My prayers have been finally answered -

Now I just need someone to set up a “Sento” next door .

Also the service to really good~
